We have successfully launched our Academic portal. The first phase of our site has been completed and cool features will be added to the site soon. Our site is also supported by two social media channels, Facebook and Twitter. Both these communities are growing rapidly and we have successfully built relationships with students and established our online presence. Our next launch will be our mobi site and our team is really excited about it. We are planning to launch it in the first quarter of this year. An innovative feature that has been added to the mobi site is where users can scan a QR (quick response) code and get quick and easy access to our books, bookstores and social media pages. The QR code is custom made exclusively for our site. You can visit the mobi site at www.myacademic.mobi. The site also features geo-location technology that shows you where the closest bookshop from your current location is. You will find that our online retailers such as Kalahari.com have already jumped at the opportunity to advertise on our mobi site. We anticipate that 2012 will be a year full of changes and technological advancements, and we are looking forward to sharing it with you. We are planning to expand our social media footprint and soon all our books will be available in e-book format. More about that in my next update. Happy 2012!
